“More than a Conqueror . . . in study hall” – (sing)

We have been singing from the new Seeds CD – Seeds of Character this week. “More Than a Conqueror” is a family favorite, a combination of the catchy tune but mainly the fun dance moves they learned at a Seeds Family Worship Night. ANYWAYS, Romans 8:37 is top of mind in our home. That is the beauty of the Sing tool. The kids begin singing the verse; the verse gets planted in their heart. A situation comes and the verse jumps in the middle of the situation arming my child with strength or a solution. This is the power of God’s word as he intends. This is the way scripture memory works. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,...

“Our Ski Trip to Breck” (God cards #13, 16, and 17)

The Hagan family adventured to Breckenridge, Colorade this first week of January to ski and study with some family friends of ours. The intent – ski like crazy by day and experience the God cards together by night. We were together with 3 other families that had never heard of the God cards. So, it was an incredible time to share this part of the Plan with them and converse together on this great topic of Father God. Night 1 at Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs (amazing!) – We began with our story, the story of The Whole Peach and our prayer for the week – encounter the person of God as he explains himself in his word, and oh yeah, ski like crazy!...

“Post Riot Thoughts from the British Prime Minister on Family”

a quote from the British Prime Minister – “What the riots have shown is that this moral neutrality, this relativism – it’s not going to cut it anymore,” Cameron stressed. “Bad behavior has literally arrived on people’s doorsteps. And we can’t shy away from the truth anymore…If we want to have any hope of mending our broken society, family and parenting is where we’ve got to start.” Take hold today of the power and promise of all that you do as you lead your precious family! Today as we love them, we mend. As we engage in the conflict of “I want what I want when I want it,” we mend. Today, begi

“A Torn Up Bible!” (study)

Posted by on Dec 18, 2011 in A Plan, A Tool, Blog | 0 comments

a note from my journal. . . Carson was in the living room swiffering in order to get his Dove chocolate. That was the deal he made with Ron. So, anyways, we were still at the kitchen table from dinner, and Carson is talking to us from the living room. All kinds of words – then he says – “hey, Mom, I talked about you on Sunday. My teacher in class was talking about her Bible being torn up and stuff. So, I raised my hand and told her that my mom says a messed up Bible is good. That means you are using it.” What a gift! I just love it. A great story of Carson catching the story and then sharing it. Thanks, Father, for that gift tonight.

Say Yes – part 5 – “Stories from the Toolbox” (study and breathe)

“The classical Disciplines of the spiritual life call us to move beyond surface living into the depths. . . . The purpose of the Disciplines is liberation from the stifling slavery. . . . The Disciplines allow us to place ourselves before God so that he can transform us. . . . They are meant to bring the abundance of God into our lives.” Richard Foster in Celebration of Discipline I wanted to share with you some Spiritual Discipline stories from my journey thus far, a few quick stories about Bible Study, Fasting and Journaling. Engaging in these activities is another great way to respond to Father God’s love. There are many more disciplines than I will discuss...
