10th day to PRAY for 2015!

What a blessing to walk with you in these days of praying! I believe Father delights in our turning and beginning with him. I believe we need his leadership and direction for our days of 2015! I also believe it is good to walk together! So far, we have prayed . . . Day 1 – for the lines of purpose and a perspective of hope Day 2 – our position in Jesus Christ and abandoning ourselves to this place of love Day 3 – a posture of open hands Day 4 – trusting in his presence and his promise Day 5 – living in the pleasant places of Father’s word and truth Day 6 – speaking the power of blessing over our home and family Day 7 – to...

9th day to PRAY for 2015!

Ron sat in his respective place at breakfast yesterday morning with granola and flakes to eat, grapefruit juice and coffee to drink and his phone in hand opened to Bible Gateway for a daily devotional by A.W. Tozer. My mouth hung open as he read it to us around the kitchen table, and I have been thinking about one word ever since, but to keep it crazy, I counted 15 words in the devotional that begin with “P.” If you are on the 15 day journey with us, you will understand the crazy – 15 words that start with P! Are you kidding me??????? But the word that Father and I have been discussing ever since – “poised.” The prayer for today is specifically for us as...

Today we are praying the story of Gideon, compliments of my friend Heather! Here is part of her email to me yesterday – “I am in Judges 6 this morning for my reading. Gideon is chosen by God to fight the Midianites. When the angel of God is informing Gideon of his plans, Gideon’s first response is questions, lots of questions. ‘Where have you been, God? Why did you abandon us? Why did you choose me?’ God’s reply to Gideon: ‘Go in the strength that you have.’ It struck me that God’s preference when sending us into battle is ‘unequal to the task.’ More room for His glory. I also think about Gideon sitting...

I received this text message from my friend, Janis, this morning . . . . “I forgot to mention that in my talk with Father, I continue to pray for faithful availability and the relationship. As I was praying with the “P’s” this morning, Father brought “passion” to me and to be “present.” Love the talking as we walk together!” I immediately focused on the phrase – to be “present.” It resonates with me as it was a breaking place for me a few years ago. Feeling overwhelmed and strung out from my daily responsibilities was the norm. The daily demands were too much to order and complete and feel any sense of success. I looked around me and realized...

6th day to PRAY for 2015!

As we stand on the front steps of 2015, I am celebrating the opportunity to pray with you. There is power in our praying! At whatever day you have jumped on this prayer chain of 15 days, you have chosen a powerful weapon of offense on behalf of your family! You have drawn a line in the sand and taken your stand on the watch! Let us continue moving forward as front line warriors! So far, we have prayed: Day 1 – for the lines of purpose and a perspective of hope Day 2 – our position in Jesus Christ and abandoning ourselves to this place of love Day 3 – a posture of open hands Day 4 – trusting in his presence and his promise Day 5 – living in...

5th day to PRAY for 2015!

As Ron was blending his smoothie lunch yesterday, he said: “I have another “P” word for you – ‘pleasant places.'” Surely, these “P” words are over by now, but it is not to be. Another “P.” “Pleasant places – from Psalm, chapter 16. “The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” Ron and I usually talk about this verse with our kids as it relates to discipline and the boundaries we set. While those boundaries at times feel like limits and have a negative connotation associated with them, these lines are actually for their good and keep...
