“Our Haiti Adventure”

Ron and I turn 40 this year! And as we talked about various options for celebrating this milestone, the three of us landed on an incredible opportunity with a most strategic ministry. We will be traveling April 25-May 1 with World Orphans to participate in a training seminar for their church partners in Haiti.

World Orphans is a non-profit ministry committed to strengthening the local church around the world to rescue and care for children. World Orphans takes the time to identify churches in the developing world that are already caring for orphans and could do more with support and encouragement from a western church partner. By partnering with World Orphans, Ron and I will get to see first-hand how God is working through these Haitian churches to rescue and care for the children. Since the earthquake, World Orphans has begun 10 church partnerships in Haiti. Each church community is caring for a group of orphaned children with food, shelter and even providing for their education. As Ron and I shared our heart for equipping and encouraging Father’s people, my background of education, our home schooling of Maya, Ada and Carson and Ron’s story of seeing your work as ministry, the need and opportunities in Haiti became the best place to travel. We will lead the education piece of a 5-day training seminar for the pastors, teachers and volunteers of these 10 Haitian churches.

We are praying you might journey with us. First you can share this information. The more we talk about the problem of orphaned and abandoned children and the exciting ways that God is at work caring for them, the more people will be involved and the more children will be cared for. You can visit the World Orphans website to learn more.

Secondly, you can pray. If you are interested in supporting our team in prayer, please contact us.

Third, you can join our kids, Maya, Ada and Carson, in collecting school supplies for the children of Haiti or creating Bible Verse Posters (message us for more information – it’s a great way for you to get your children involved!)

Finally, you can partner with us financially.

Please let us know if you have any questions or would like more of the story.

Blessings,

Ron & Karla
