I feel so strongly about this endeavor, the God cards that is. It is just crucial that we flood our children with the person of God. If in fact we believe in him and if we feel as though we have need, then we are desperate for ways to know him and to invite our kids to his story, one that we have been reading and experiencing already. And something I have experienced as well – these truths about Father God sustain me, strengthen me and catapult me into peaceful places of rest and resilience. And I need a whole bunch of that! There has been many a day when my circumstances overwhelm me, and I will remember – Father God runs to me, answers me, knows my name...
Read MoreGod told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!” Jeremiah 31:3 in The Message If the truths of God’s word, the Bible, are true for you just as they were for his chosen people, the Israelites, which they are, then this message of love is sent to you as well. So, read it again and again and again. Father God, the creator of heaven and earth and everything in between, loves you. So what? I suppose that is a question worthy of your thought. For me, I have decided that love matters. Love matters in my marriage. Love matters with my friends. Love matters in my family. Love matters in my relationships at work and school....

It is a picture that gives me definition and captures...
Read MoreHave you ever felt ripped – ripped off, ripped out, ripped apart, ripped up? There have been some days when I am feeling pretty “ripped” even before the schedule gets going. The thoughts in my head have already consumed me. The details of the day seem daunting to say the least. I just begin the day “undone.” There is even the thought, “Maybe if I put the covers over my head and lie real still, they will think I am gone.” During one of these “undone” days, I ended up having an incredible conversation with Father God on this very topic. I had just finished breakfast and realized that I had a few moments before I needed to get going. I had the idea of...
Read MoreThis past weekend I had one too many “firsts!” I had my first “embarrassing throw-up” moment and my first “Jessica McClure” moment (you remember the little girl trapped in the well?!?). Anyways, we were at a birthday party at the YMCA indoor pool, and all of the sudden, Maya runs from the pool with mouth covered. And, yes, she says the words – “Mommy, I think I am going to throw up.” Instantly, my Mom alertness and agility kicks in, and we make record time to the bathroom or at least we made it to the bathroom door. So, there we were, Maya and I, right in the middle of the party, right in the middle of the entry from the indoor pool to the bathroom,...
