“I am Totally Forgiven” (Me card #5)
We came again to the conversation of Me card #5 – I am totally forgiven. And for this discussion, we used a simple piece of white copy paper and some markers to get the ideas working in our minds and hearts! It was such a rich conversation. We were all at the kitchen table – Bible, Me card #5, copy paper and markers! That was it! We talked about the card. We looked up the verse. So, after I poured my cereal and found my place at the kitchen table, I opened up the Plan and for this week of February 3-9, the topic was God card #24 – Longs for our love! Ahhh. . . After the 3rd “get-up” and last “tuck in” last night, I was reaching deep into my bag of tricks to find the thing that would comfort Maya’s crying eyes. Ron had left for Louisiana yesterday afternoon, and Maya was overcome with sadness and fear. “I just miss Daddy. I don’t feel comfortable when he is gone. Aren’t you scared all by yourself, Mommy? The Story cards along with the God and Me cards are first our own experience of redemption and rescue. Father God loved us, saved us, spoke to us and won. He thinks about us, looks for us, tells us in terms that we get it, puts his arms around us, kisses us on the forehead, calls us by a new name and includes us in his family.
